SITHI.ORG Wins an ISIF 2011 Award

EWMI is proud to announce that its partner and grantee, the Cambodia Center for Human Rights (CCHR), has won an Information Society Innovation Fund 2011 Award under the category of “Rights and Freedoms” for the development of Cambodia’s first online human rights portal – www.sithi.org. The award was granted in recognition of the role that the portal has played in advocating for social change and in promoting the civil and political rights of Cambodian citizens, using information communication technologies in innovative ways.

The website is a new, collaborative approach to human rights work, which relies on monitoring, documentation, and information sharing as a basis for research and evidence-based dialogue, enabling civil society organizations and development partners to engage in advanced and effective advocacy. Sithi.org also strives to provide information on the human rights situation in Cambodia to increase awareness and mobilize action to protect and promote rights.

EWMI congratulates CCHR on receiving this well-earned award and looks forward to continuing its support of this great project, which continues to grow in scope and impact everyday.
