2013-2014

The Montenegro Criminal Justice Civil Society Program (CJCSP) was designed to increase citizen engagement in criminal justice reform efforts through watchdog and monitoring activities, advocacy and policy-making, research, and public education. The program’s activities contributed to more transparent judicial proceedings, improved access to justice and quality of judicial proceedings, increased dialogue between civil society and justice institutions, increased government accountability and increased public confidence in the justice system. 2010-2013

The Good Governance Activity in Montenegro is a five year, $8.6mn project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by the East-West Management Institute (EWMI). The overall objective of the project is to help develop transparent, functioning and responsive government institutions, and to strengthen the role of civil society and the private sector as counterparts to those institutions in Montenegro. The specific focus is on the judicial system, business regulation and a variety of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) relevant to strengthening transparency and accountability.
