Through the USAID Justice for All Project, EWMI is supporting journalism students in Shkodër and Elbasan to build their capacities in digital storytelling techniques. Working with journalism departments in both universities, 45 students successfully completed the first training week with Rana Labs, an international media production agency. The students were immersed in an intensive hands–on approach, learning digital media techniques including filming, interviewing and editing, all with customized mobile filmmaking kits. This unique experience for students will culminate in the production of eight (8) short films, focusing on themes of justice. JFA is dedicated to building the technical skills of prospective young journalists in Albania to enable them to advocate for their communities. In the months ahead, additional workshops will continue with a goal of improving the quality of journalism in Albania and empowering a new generation of innovative digital content producers.
